When we meet for an online math tutoring session, you will have two meeting options available to you:
If you decide to do a Zoom call, please log into the Zoom room 5 minutes before our tutoring session is scheduled to start.
If I do not see you in the Zoom room, I will assume that you would like to have a phone call session and I will call your phone number to start our tutoring session.
Ziteboard is an online whiteboard system that is accessible on any device. I like using it for math tutoring because it makes it easy to write out the steps as we solve math problems.
To use Ziteboard, please do the following BEFORE our tutoring session:
We will use Ziteboard for all of our math tutoring sessions.
However, we will also need a way to communicate while we are working on the whiteboard. So, we can do a Zoom call or we can do a phone call to communicate verbally.
I recommend a Zoom call because Zoom has some very helpful features (like recording the meeting and screensharing) that make it easier to tutor.
However, if you do not have any experience with Zoom and you feel a little nervous about using two new technologies at the same time, a phone call with Ziteboard will work just fine.
Zoom is an online video conferencing software that I've used for hundreds of online meetings. I like using it for math tutoring because it allows us to share our screens and record the tutoring sessions.
To use Zoom, please do the following BEFORE our tutoring session:
Zoom is ideal if...
Zoom is not ideal if...
If you have a slow internet connection or you are attending the tutoring session from your phone, please opt for a phone call instead of using Zoom.
